They lived in Westend, a small company town (no longer in existence) in Searles Valley where she worked for the Trona Joint Unified School District for 21 years until her retirement in 1983. Cathy was a hair stylist for the community of Dodge City, as well as worked for a short time as a paraprofessional for the Dodge City School District.
